European Parliament Awards Lingsoft Three Major Translation Contracts
The European Parliament has awarded Lingsoft Language Services Oy the main contracts for translation services into Finnish and Swedish as well as a secondary contract for translation services into Danish. The value of the contracts totals over 10 million euros.
Under the contracts concluded with the European Parliament, Lingsoft is responsible for the provision of translations of the Parliament’s administrative documents into Finnish and Swedish. Under the secondary contract, Lingsoft has also undertaken to provide translations into Danish as required by the Parliament. With a total value of over 10 million euros, the five-year contracts enter into force on 1 January 2020.
Lingsoft has been a contractor to the European Parliament for Finnish translation services since 1995, and has served as the main framework contractor for Swedish since 2016. The new contracts mark another significant step in Lingsoft’s long history as a notable provider of translation services to the European Union.
“We consider winning these framework contracts an important achievement. Over the years we have made significant investments in the development of our expertise, process automation and customer service in the context of EU translations. We are very happy to continue our work with the European Parliament. The contracts will not only create jobs at Lingsoft, but will also ensure that our extensive network of expert translators stays busy. The five-year contracts give us the opportunity to continue developing our translation technology solutions and service processes, and thus ensure that we continue to provide high-quality translation services to the European Parliament”, said Lingsoft Chief Services Officer Riikka Heikkilä.
In addition to the Parliament, the new contracts see Lingsoft continue to provide translation services to the European Economic and Social Committee, the European Committee of the Regions, and the European Court of Auditors. Lingsoft also has a number of framework contracts with the Translation Centre for the Bodies of the EU (CdT) as well as a contract with the European Commission and the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop).
