Lingsoft's Swedish Grammar Checker

The purpose of this document is to provide an overview of the design choices made in Lingsoft's Swedish Grammar Checker (SWEGC) and the motivations for these choices. In other words, to tell what the tool does, what it doesn't do, and why. First, some of the most general level design features are introduced. Next, outstanding features of Swedish grammar are highlighted, followed by notes on punctuation and writing conventions in Swedish. A list of the error types now targeted by SWEGC is then given, with one or more representative examples of each type. After that, the functionalities supported by SWEGC are illustrated. Finally, limitations are commented on.
